That's gotta be a 'feel good' moment, there! Looks like a nice chunk of cordwood, maybe even some boards out of the main trunk.....
I'd be making a little stack next to the firepit fer cooking, brother!
Morel Mushrooms, have you ever had any luck finding them around Poplar?

I personally haven't found any around poplar, but I know of others who have. Dead elms, ash, and apple seem to be great perennial sites for finding them.

We have some ash on the back hill, apple trees just don't like the soil in our area, we do have some dead elm so I'll start with those areas.

I spent the day in the woods, not a bug around. This is the "long bar" cherry that came down, pics 7214 & 7218.

Pic 7215 & 7216 is a topped off cherry just up the hill, if I can't get it before the ferns come up I'll get it this fall. I think this is one area once the ferns come up the fawn use for cover.

With some rain moving in for the rest of the week I decided to get this Cherry out & stacked, I'll finish the rest of the rack before Sunday. I just have some of that dead Elm left in the woods with more Cherry, once I get that out it's time for some milling in the bowl.::P
