Western Mass
Any free wood to be had in the western Mass area?

1) Try local stores that might use pallets. Many will give them to you if you ask. If it is not wet, you can burn it right away. Use a saws all and stand on top of it.

2) Keep an eye out in your neighborhood for trees that go down. When I aks my neighbors, about 1 in 4 let me take what's there for free. I never pay for wood.

3) When it gets warmer, some towns have compost piles and they accept wood. Sometimes you can get permission to haul off what's there.

Good luck.

My neighbor has a landscape business. I made friends quickly and told him where he can drop off any hardwood he needs to get rid of...
