I noticed inspecting the "t" cap this morning that it appeared to slip lower on the "t" support, while the fire was going. I have a strap around it to help secure it in place. Are there any further steps I can do?

I was going to crip the "t" a little more to enable the cap to slid up more on the "t" support. Good idea?

Also, I was going to put a couple drops of stove pipe cement to help secure the connection. Will just a couple dabs still enable me to take the cap off to clean pipe in a couple months?

I would drill a hole and put a screw in it to hold it in place.
