You get what you pay for. The basic Pleasant Hearth stove is simple, but not of the best quality when compared to an Englander 13NC at about the same price. There are lots of complaints about the air control in particular. But if bucks are tight, it will get the job done. Seasoned wood and a safe, proper height flue will make this stove work. OTOH, I wouldn't put a VG box stove anywhere but in the garden as a planter.
