So my 290 is slightly disassembled. One of the three clutch springs broke so I have three new ones to install. When I removed the sprocket hub thing a needle bearing that rides on the crank snout was exposed. Do I lube that bearing? With what? It was dry but in good shape.

Lube it very lightly with any light grease . The stuff you use on you FEL will work fine .

Thanks Nixon, I used the chassis grease and it worked great. I do believe that my clutch has never worked right as the now functional clutch makes the saw easier to start and a way better idle. Like a new saw.
