Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they efficient at all? Thinking of putting one in my home.

Are you looking at the Malm circular fireplaces? I'm not sure about their efficiency, but they certainly wouldn't compare with a modern EPA unit. The lack of ratings on these units may say a lot about their efficiency or lack thereof. They look more for show than go.
For much greater efficiency maybe look at modern stoves by Wittus, Rais or perhaps the little Morso 7648 (caveat - 11" wood)
