It's not the most efficient thing to heat from the basement, but our feet aren't cold!

Only getting down to about 15 here tonight, but I see a low of 4 the forecast.

Hopefully we'll be able to get to ice fishing soon.

We have a minus 10 coming up, not like Alaska but it will make the snow squeak. The Liberty should draft a split right up the pipe!

Agreed. I've been waiting two years to go. I have the urge to watch Grumpy Old Men now.

Last winter was the first in my lifetime where the local ice wasn't safe enough to go fishing on at least a few times.

Wind chill will put it around zero here tonight. Little colder Monday and a little colder than that on Tuesday night. Boiler is going through some wood now! Love the wood burning season. Still have to figure out where I am going to move the old wood stove to though. So we can "see" a fire again.

If you ask for it, it will come. Stay warm and watch those pipes. With the woodstove handling the load the basement can get mighty cold in some houses. Cycle the furnace once or twice a day if you have one.

Love it when it's so cold out the snow squeaks when you walk on it! I see a couple of cold nights in the forecast, I'm waiting to hear news of the next big system coming our way. Looks like it's gonna be kinda quiet all week in terms of weather.....

It's going below zero tonight here. I've been snowshoeing on some nearby trails, and it's been nearly perfect conditions with lots of fluffy snow on top of a
good hard base. Warm house with hot chocolate (and maybe a little whiskey) is perfect for ringing in the cold new year.

It's cold here, has been for a while, will be for a while. Lots of fluffy light sparkling snow, sunny most of the day today, for a change. Nice long walks. Toasty home.
