In The Woods
Went back in thinking I could mill about seven 2 x 10's from this downed pine branch, only milled four along with four one inch boards from another tree. Great day in the woods, 38 degrees with sun all day.

You really got hit hard, it's nice that you can get some wood out of it.

What kind of milling machine you using? Pat

Stihl 660 with the 36 inch bar with this mill http://granberg.com/product/alaskan-mk-iii-mill-36, I did add the aux. oiler after talking with smokin.

We also purchased a nine & five foot section of rails. http://granberg.com/product/9ft-ez-rails

Oh wow that looks like a cool setup. I've got a similar thing going on, I've got a summer home lot( 5 acres) that I've been trying to figure out how to build a cabin on. Cost being a big factor. This has me thinking that I could mill my own wood and build whatever I wanted! I'll be watching your cabin build. Pat

We hope to start the cabin build in the spring, not sure how long this will take.

I might make them 9.5, these will work at 9.5 but 10 will be pushing it once I trim them up.

Thanks
