  1. Good afternoon .... just finished installation of our "first" pellet stove. How long and also how much smoke should we expect to see while running it for the first time? Instructions say....run initial start up for at least 3 hours. After that...should we continue seeing smoke off the unit? Any comments would be appreciated.....Thanks

You should get a tad of the protectant oils burning off and thats about it. By now you should be able to run it as normal. During the first few runs you might get a few smells but nothing to worry about. You start running it hard a few warm smells will get out but nothing to worry about. Enjoy your stove and the warm feeling you get screwing the oil companies for a change.
  3. Thanks Driz ..... it working great now. My wife's out of her hooded sweats and into normal clothing now. Nice picture.....take care

Thats the cat, one of 3 who invariably end up parked on top of or in front of the stove much of the time. You can use them to tell if your stove is running right. Stove runs correctly, cats in place. Stove runs bad, goes out, cats depart. This rule is only accurate when there is no food in the next room, Cheers!
