Has anyone here ever burned pellets by Moderne slate. The local stove store has stocked them and was just wondering about them. Softwoods from Canada is about all they can say about them.
I will try some and let every body know.

Softwoods from Canada is usually a good sign. You might need to be the guinea pig on these?

If you do try some please post your thought.

Yes. Please post reviews. Hopefully they come further South.... :)

Canadian Softwoods tend to be very good

Here is what I came up with on the Moderne pellets. They are made in Minto NB, by Tracc. The company salvages old tires into all kinds of things, shingles, garden mulch etc. The bags are clear with the company name on them and nothing at all about the pellets, none of the specs or contents. The pellets range from 1/4 inch to almost 2 inches long. They seem light so would not be dense enough I'm thinking. They burn fast and not very hot so I will not buy any more. I really had my hopes up too!
