Moisture absorber in boiler for summer?

I'm sure it can't hurt, but is it worthwhile to put some sort of silica /dessicant inside the boiler through the non use months of summer? Our basement is very humid in the summer.
 
I use in my insert oil dry or some other type of dessicant to get the moisture. I read some else on here does the same. I don't think it would hurt and would think it would help if anything!
 
I always use them. Wood stove, pellet stove, wood boiler, etc... Cant hurt. They are cheap. Dollar store for a couple bucks.
