Just cleared a bunch of brush from around this stump in our yard and gave the top a hair cut. The area we live in was extensively logged many many years ago. Stump is at least 10ft tall and has three big notches in it as you can see. I assume the notches were cut to allow the logger to climb the trunk? The kids say it looks like a "monster face".
Stump is rotting but it looks so cool I'm going to keep it as long as it stands.

Leave it as a gift to the kids. Will be a fond memory of their childhood. We had a dead tree in our front yard that we climbed and put tree forts in. Should have been knocked down and was after we moved. But, it does have good memories.
