Monument to Woodsmen

Found this along the Au Sable River in NE lower Michigan, plus a couple pictures of the river. The monument was bronzed and put up in 1931.

We have a similar monument devoted to the Maine lumberjacks here in Bangor, Maine . . . and I'm not talking about that fiberglass statute of Paul Bunyan.

Yes, a very well known monument in a nice area.
 
Trivia:

I always do a double take when I see the word "woodsman" or "woodsmen". Hubby's surname is Flemish, from Belgium, with an actual English translation of "man of the woods" or "woodsman".
