What kind of wood is that, you have in Colorado? Do you know if they have hardwoods in the Boise Idaho area?

That's beautiful! Great looking stack of firewood you got there.

It consists of a mix of pine and aspen. A few different species of pine thrown together. I am not sure what if any hardwoods they have in Boise? I do know that up in the Idaho pan handle, Sandpoint and such, that we burned a lot of lodge pole and tamarack. They had bad beetle kills coming thru a few years ago, and the pines were dropping faster than we could keep up.

I have some pine trees that have some bug or infection that causes them to ooze pitch. I have had a few come down in the past few years and I burn with them frequently. The pitch is fun to watch burn in a hot stove. Yesterday, I was out of kindling and I had one of these pieces covered in pitch, so I decided to load the stove and try to light the pitch. I was amazed at how fast that fire took off. I guess that's why those fire starters are so popular!

I'm sure if Ron Jeremy burnt wood it would look like that.lol
