Hi- our new Morso 5660 insert has a blower, but when we first installed it, the contact for the thermostat wasn't touching the underside of the stove, so the blower wasn't turning on. I bent the contact a little, and applied some thermally conductive grease to improve the contact. Now the blower comes on sooner into the fire.

However it is still taking too long, in my opinion for the blower to turn on. This morning, about 45 minutes, and the fire is plenty hot well before it turned on. Is this normal?

I would say it's normal. It takes a while for my fan to come on as well, and you'ver verified cntact. On the other hand, the stove cools off pretty well before it shuts off. :)
