Accidental?. I hope the folks who left the wood stove burning unattended with the door propped open get to pay for the restoration.

The Long Trail in Vermont has a string of huts along much of the trail especially in the mountains. Many used to have wood stoves but the club that maintains the huts have had to remove them as inevitably clueless folks would manage to burn the huts down or severely damage them. The hut in question was a state owned hut that was locked and rented to individual parties but I guess just because they can rent a cabin doesn't mean they are qualified stove operators.

Sad to see a treasured spot destroyed by carelessness ... hope they restore it as it looks to be a real neat place.
