Do you have to scrap the fire pot every once in awhile or not?

I have never scraped the Mt Vernon's burn pot.

I have to scrap it if I am burning on low or medium low because I seem to get more clunkers in the fire pot.
 
Guess pellets have something to do with it. Maybe the blower getting weak other than that clean you stove (haha).
