Quite often when I am spending some time alone in the basement loading the fire I have various songs running through my head. Tonight while filling the firebox I noticed some gaps that needed to be filled and the words from Pink Floyd chimed in "How can I fill the final spaces, how can I complete the wall". Sorry if this is not appropriate for this forum, but got to wondering if anyone else has this experience.

Goodness gracious great balls of fire
    The heat is on...

I could keep going, but I'll spare you all my ramblings....

"Burn'in down the house.."- Talking Heads-
-"get er' done"- Larry the Cable Guy- not a song, but it helps when trucking in the splits from the stacks.

Yikes! While I'm a big Talking Heads fan, "Burning Down The House" isn't what I want to think while I'm loading my stove! :p

Change the lyrics to "Burning in your house..." if that helps. Watch out, you may get what you ask for...==c

Taking me back, Loon! Got it blasting while watching the fire come up right now. I am pretty sure the flames are dancing in rhythm.

Good tune, sounds remarkably similar to Jet City Women by Queensryche IMO. Just sayin

There are a host of fireside song lyrics by our own BrotherBart and some helpers posted here:

    http://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/wiki/Brother_Barts_Classic_Hearthsongs/

    Here's a sample:

    I’m burning clean, I’m a believer
I thought burning clean was only true in fairy tales
Meant for some other burner and not for me
My stove was out to get me
    That’s the way it seemed
Smoking chimneys haunted all my dreams
Then I bought a new stove, now I’m a believer
Not a trace of smoke in the sky
    I’m burning clean, I’m a believer
    I couldn’t go back if I tried
I thought smoke was more or less a given thing
Seems the more I tried the more I got
    What’s the use in tryin?
    All you get is smoke
When I needed heat I got tar
Then I bought a new stove, now I’m a believer
Not a trace of smoke in the sky
    I’m burning clean, I’m a believer
    I couldn’t go back if I tried
(With no apologies whatsoever to The Monkees)
