If I need it, I will route it up my masonry fireplace and let it sit on my hearth.

http://darkmoonmetals.com/. The guy is a master welder. Great to brainstorm with. Not sure on pricing as mine was prototype, but ammo cans can be had cheap. I bought a huge one for emergency house heater and Adirondack camping in the winter.

I really hope you're not intending to burn in something like that inside an occupied dwelling. Please be careful.
 
I'd sure as heck do it in an emergency.
 
I'm far from an expert, and get the need for emergency heat but is that safe?
