Hey Guys,

I bucked up a fallen Oak (white I believe) from my fathers house today. Many that wood is heavy!!! My back is baking but I a psyched to start a collection of some good firewood!

If those leaves are from that tree it is red oak.

Yep the pointy ends tell me red, white had rounder fingertips.
 
Red it is!
I assume this will burn well once its seasoned for a couple years?
I'm new to this (and apparently getting up posts on this BB) and it was a lot of work but rewarding at the same time!

Two years should be good . . . three years should be fantastic. Oak is a primo wood!
 
back in 2007, I blew the brake lines of our '94 Landrover hauling 4 or 5 green red oak logs. Car was near its end of life for us anyway. Sold it shortly after that.
