Need Experience Installing a Chimney Cleanout Door.

I have S.S. liner kit coming in the mail. In order to access the cleanout cap on the tee, I want to install a cast iron clean out door on the backside of my interior chimney.

I'd like a 12"x12" door. Does anyone have experience or comments with installing a door in a brick chimney?

I did it for my exterior chimney. I have a friend that does block work help me, we had to cut out the 12 x 12 out of the block and install the door, wasn't that hard.

Thanks. Could you give some detail how you did that?

He had a concrete circular saw and a large hammer drill that we used to cut out the hole, pretty simple process. Just make sure your block can still support the weight with that being cut out (I have a large base so it was ok, didn't need to brace)
