I found this out on a tech information website.
 
I think they're getting an over-the-air software update to fix this. Turns out the wave-your-arms-to-silence technique could be triggered accidentally. No one's been reported hurt, so they're just being proactive. In other words, don't put your Nest Protect in the same room as your Kinect.
