Great place ya'll got here, tons of priceless info.
The wife and I have decided we are tired of paying the gas company as much money as we do to heat our 60 year old house. particularly since we have enough hardwood on the place to last for several decades.
We're not new to heating with wood but it's been a few years. The last stove I bought and installed was a big ole Ashley way back in 1985We had great service out of that stove and it was still going when we sold the house in '90.
I've looked at a number of different stoves offered by local dealers, Buck, Quadra fire, US Stove, and a few "off brands" that I can't remember, mostly because they looked kind of cheaply made and I'm fairly certain I could build a better one with nothing more than my cutting torch and arc welder.

Anyway, I'm leaning heavily towards the Heatilator Eco-Choice WS22. The published specs look like it will do the job I want it to do which is mostly keep the main living area of the house comfortable, fit in the space I want to put it and fit the budget we have for the project.
I know it is made by Quadra-fire and the model I looked at seems to be a well built stove.
Any negatives or problems with this stove that I should know about before I pull the trigger on this stove?

Thanks

We just had a fellow install one of these. Seems like a decent and straight-forward stove.

Thanks Begreen, Everything I've found on it tells me it is a decent stove and should do what I want it to.
I've got some re-learning to in the next week or so. It's only been about 25 years since I've heated with wood. I'm not counting the home made stove I used in my shop for a decade or so, it worked OK but left a little to be desired.

Yep I just put one in haven't had time to do a full on review as of yet with pics and everything I will probably tomorrow. But I will tell you it is made by quadrafire and shares many parts with the larger millineum. Wednesday it was -22 up here and it kept the main room a nice 77 with the other rooms in the house at about 72. So far I am more than satisfied it has used less wood than I had anticipated as well I am getting about 10 hours on a full load of birch and about 8 hours on a load of spruce but the spruce is at about 25% where the birch is around 17% so that probably has alot do do with it. I am fully loading twice a day and adding a split or 2 mid day. I load morning at about 6 am and still have good coals at my reload at 5 when I add a split or 2 until i load her to the gills before bed at 10ish. Secondaries have done their job as well and I love the big glass to watch the show.

Thanks for the review. I picked up my WS-22 last
Friday along with all the sundry odds and ends to install it and hope to have it up and burning Saturday.
