This morning we installed my new wood insert..... just before the storm began. I went with the Heatilator EcoChoice WINS18. I am sitting in front of it as I type this and I couldn't be happier.

We installed a Home Saver Pro 6" flex liner, double wrapped with 1/2" insulation, a new HY-C multi-flue chimney cap, and the insert itself. Everything went very straight forward. We actually finished about 10mins. before the snow began to fall.

Here are some pics, including before and after. The coffee table in the picture has been replaced by a more narrow one in order to meet clearance requirements for combustibles. I have a couple racks of splits right outside the door all ready to go.

    Thanks everyone.

Two pups in that pic....theres a little one in the chair. ;)

There was a little when I first fired it up. I think I have it dialed in a little bit better now. I need to check tomorrow in the day light.

 apologies AnalogKid - didn't even see the little pup there. Guess my eyes are calibrated on Newf's. 2 happy pups are better than 1...
