New scrounge - wood id question

Found a nice little scrounge site very close to my house. Rental house being torn down to make room for a storage building. Has a few trees on the site and previously cut wood. Can someone help ID this wood. Looks like about 3 trees on the lot are the same. Thanks!

Not sure. Kind of looks like oak, less you bust it open.
 
I don't know what it is but the growth rings are huge so I don't think it's oak.. It's a fast growing tree time to see a split..

The bark looks like oak especially with the fungus, oak is know for fungus.

The bark does look like oak but the growth rings are very thick so I feel it is a fast growing tree..

I agree on the elm. It will burn good and that size I wouldn't even split it.
 
Someone else had cut some of it a while back.
