Buddy calls me and asked if I wanted some wood, but I had to come up right away to get it. Neighbor had a tree cut down and he wants it gone or its off to Craigslist.
Drive over, 24" hickory. Some a bit punky, but two truckloads of trunks for free is a good score in my book. Most were too heavy for us to life solo. Glad I showed up, now the 2 year wait to see them in the stove.
Neighbor wanted the limbs for his outdoor firepit.

Sounds good except for the punky stuff. If that tree was already turning punky, there probably is not the normal amount of moisture so should dry fast.
