I didn't used to like it when I got a call the tenants are complaining about a dead tree; afraid it might fall on their cars. Now as a wood burner I like those calls. It's pine, not much, but free! The gas, oil, and saw are tax write offs so even that helps.

I was quite surprised though for a pine tree with no needles how wet the inside was when split.

If you've got a hankerin' for pine, try the golf courses in your area. There's a beetle about which is killing a lot of them and golf course waste yards are full of them. I've got access to about 50 cords if I want.
