No Clue what this is! Help me ID

This is a dead standing tree with no leaves and I'm not very good with bark ID.
What is it?

with virtually nothing to go on, i would guess hemlock.

can you tell us what the branch profile looks like? and if you include your bioregion in your profile it helps alot more.
 
My long shot guess would be black walnut. I would have to see the wood end grain to really ID.
 
Need to see the wood grain & color. Walnut is a good guess.
I'm sure it's:
"Firewood" ;)
After it's CSS, it's;
"Gottonwood" :)
 
Looks like balck oak by the bark and those shrooms tend to grow like that on oak.
 
Gopher wood.....get it and gopher more.
 
By the way the bark is coming off. Elm.
