    Hello

Well, I have been reserching and found some really good Carbon Conductive Grease.

So besides the safety switched in the wood pellet stove, I am also trying it out on my car battery terminals!

Unlike DiElectric grease at the auto parts store, this stuff can be between the terminal and the battery post!
Makes for a much better connection. Besides the DiElectric grease instructions says that stuff is for the spark plug wires so the boots do not get brittle and stick!

See pics below. Here is the info.
Carbon Conductive Greese from Allied Electronics in Ft Worth Texas made by CG Chemicals!

Noalox is a gray colored. Highly conductive, electricians use it when working with aluminum service cables to prevent corrosion at the termination points.

Sounds like a winner for my trailer hitch connections. Cheers!

That was odd the time zone change bumped my post into the past!

Aluminum neversieze works well on battery terminals also and it is conductive. Probably more common than Noalox to the average workshop or garage.

Noalox - NO AL uminum OX idation.

Never tried it on battery terminals but I bet it would work.

I have some Never Seez I got from the plumbing supply store and just tested it against the carbon conductive grease!!

    See pics below.
The blob Never Seez got infinity on the Rx1 ohms scale. ( I put the probes real close too!)
The blob of Carbon Conductive Grease got 3 ohms !!!!

So I cannot recommend the Never Seez although it would seal out the moisture and stop corrosion.

I don't know, I use the automotive based NeverSeize, maybe there is a difference. It's the first thing I grab when cables are going back on a battery.
Can you run a test on Noalox?

Stupid post (my fault), I have been using the Noalox on my batteries for a long time and it works just fine.

MY bad I did not see the pictures of the meter testing, I can check later if nobody else gets to it.

    Hello

Ok, Just picked up a bottle of that N0AlOx at home depot for this test!

    See pic below

Even though it is a nice silver black color I got Infinity on the Rx1 ohm scale!!!

So the Allied Electronics Carbon Conductive Grease is the Only one here that actually conducts!!

Allied Electronics Carbon Conductive Grease is the clear winner!!

It is true there are many varieties of Never Seez but I would test it with a meter if I were you! Most automotive Di-Electric Grease is NON Conductive. Even the Electricians NoOx grease I purchased at the Electric Supply house is Non Conductive!!

Thats interesting because they put it on alum. wire connections.

Don-I just tried mine with the same results, looks like I will have to buy some of that conductive grease.

Found this little tid bit of information which clears it up for me for the most part. It explains why it works for me.
"At low voltages, Noalox exhibits both conductive and non-conductive properties. Noalox has zinc particles suspended in a non-conductive grease. When contacts are forced together via mechanical action, the zinc particles compress and provide a bridge between the contacts for conductivity. The zinc also sacrifices its ions instead of them coming from the contacts on your device. The grease lubicates and provides a protective coating against moisture and the elements. Together, the zinc particles and lubricant prevents oxidation and corrosion from building up on the contacts which extends the life of the contacts and prevents future conductivity issues."

Believe me I was not sure either but the retired electrician at home depot said the NoAlOx was only to prevent Oxidation and he is right!! That does make sense that it has some small conductivity since it is silver.

The only highly conductive grease is what the Electronics Industry uses. Why is that such a big secret?

Because it really works well?? LOL

Read my last post I can give you the whole link if you like, it talked about electricians liking the Noalox better.

I just did but I will try the branched carbon. I am sure the NoAlOx is better than the automotive permatex di-electric non conductive grease but the branched carblon conductive grease may be the best! I will try it!!
