But there seems to be a fatal flaw with this design.

How so? It's for a fire place or stove or even an open pit out doors.

This has been around for years. From what I read about it, even in a wood stove, it doesn't work as well as you might think....and it's $$ for what it is.
 
From the picture, how do any pellets stay in there? Of course I have no idea how it's supposed to work.....
 
It uses the bridging principal.
 
That makes sense ..... whats a bridging principle?
