Hey gang...I've got around 2 cords of rounds of red oak stacked that's been drying for about 4-5 years. The wood looks great , w/ tons of cracked ends--except for some woody white fungus on the top logs which were uncovered. I'm wondering if when split this stuff will be ready as fuel or will it need to season further-- or is just useless!? Thoughts?

Here's a couple of phone shots:

Its past its prime, good sun light will help. Burn it early season

...what the heck I'd burn it.

No harm done. Burn it as you usually would. btw, I do not think this is past its prime either. Should burn very nice.

It's ripe. Burn it this year.

got the same on some white oak. Burns just as hot as any other piece. Don't be scared. Let 'er eat.
