Check those fire and CO detectors. Change those batteries etc. Probably one of the most important home safety items. Checked my smoke detectors this morning when my bagel got stuck in the toaster:)

Check those dry type extinguishers too. They have expiration dates that's due to the chemicals settling and caking up into a unusable solid. I have at least one in a room due to all the electronics etc. Liquid type are good at putting out hot wood fires like a fire in a stud wall or a back burn in some older pellet stoves.
 
Here's to all the fire fighters out there both career and volunteer. I myself am a retired volunteer after 25 years of serving as a Captain and Asst. Chief. Stay safe guys and as I used to always say to my crew, We all go home at the end of the night!
