That "motivated seller" part at the end could work to your advantage!

  4. 1) It's a Harman.
    2) Comes with exhaust kit.
    3) Comes with hearth slate.
    4) Comes with 2-year warranty.
    5) Room to negotiate an already low price.

    Problem???

Great price. Wonder what the reason is for selling.
  6. kinsmanstoves Minister of Fire

If it is a full liner kit that can be $500 to $600
    the pad $300-$350
    install $500
    stove $3800
so they have $5k in it

I would walk in with cash and see what happens offering $2k and go to $2500.

warranty only transferable if the unit stays in original installation location. not transferable in the event the unit travels. not that it should be a deal breaker if the price is right.

I am guessing he realized an insert would be a better fit for the room.

its all good, I'm just trying to clarify. it would be a shame for someone to go into it thinking they had the awesomness of warrantee only to be shot down by the dealer 3 months from now on a bad igniter or something. no harm, no foul. :)

It's a used stove! The piping may or may not be applicable. That's just a throw in and no guarantee. I would hold the line at $1600 to $1700. I think he's dreaming if he thinks he can get $2950 for it.

    Just my 2 cents.

We are supposed to be over the hump on the heating season and I am seeing dealers trying to liquidate. Point out the warranty is only good for registered location. If everything is cherry lower end of 2k IMO. But the sale prices are regional in nature. Here in MN you can't hardly sell a snowblower after Janruary let alone a stove unless its a real good price. Example, 2 year old St.Croix Afton bay?with 2 tons of pellets for 1k took two weeks to sell.

Has it been six weeks since the solstice? That normally is the low point temperature wise.

Well thats what the local forcaster has been reminding us as a major weather cold front is north of the border 500 miles. Weather alert posted for tomorrow for winds to 40 and getting down to -20
  21. imacman Minister of Fire

I gave up on most forecasts because they were frequently more wrong than correct.

Now I'm really worried because they are predicting possible light snow. I've shoveled that along with partly cloudy measured in feet before.

We had between 5 and 6 inches of snow on Wednesday that I removed from the driveway yesterday morning so the boss could go to quilt club etc... (the meeting got canceled because the parking lot hadn't been plowed) so she did the etc .. portion of her normal Thursday activities and I cleaned the stove.
