You're talking about the Intrepid II non-cat model they had in the several
years ago, but was discontinued. The model I'm speaking about existed before
the Cat model came out (nee - the Intrepid II).

Was it efficent & easy to operate??
(dampers & bypass instead of catalyst)

Intrepid I, Model 1302, 1982-1988. See http://www.discountstove.com/1302.html for parts diagram. Notice that unlike the current Intrepid NC, the older one has a damper (operated from left side of stove) and is top-loading.
