So I decided last week i'd like to add a stove shop onto my pellet business I have started. I'm really really really...really new to the stove game so I'm looking for a guidance into what stoves people on here really like and the ones that are just horrible. My old man has been talking to Timberwolf stoves and a couple other names I cant remember right now. I'm really trying to get Harmen and Breckwell but I'm pretty sure they already have too many dealers in my area as it is. So what stove's do you guys think I should be looking into? I don't want to open this stove shop a have some low end stuff that no one is going to give two hoots about. Go big or go home baby!!

I would look into St. Croix and Enviro. EvenTemp the distributor/factory for St. Croix also handles the PSG line of wood and pellet furnaces plus Pacific Energy wood stove and pellet stoves. Pacific Energy has a new pellet stove called the Warmland that we are all looking at hard right now.

The number for EvenTemp in Nebraska is: 1-800-709-7288. You can't go wrong with their Auburn multi-fuel stove and pellet stoves. Their dedication to the dealers is exceptional!

Good Luck,
AR

Dell Point Europa is most efficient & expensive i think. I'd research the reliability

Oh yeah!! The Dell Point Europa is a very good unit with DC motors. It will run off of a battery during power outages. A real plus for some!

I have heard many complaints about Breckwell, might want to research that brand a little more.

harman
quad
enviro
st croix
lennox
not neccessarily in that order.

& has a patented gassification burn system that minimizes heatloss from excessive combustion air. not so simple to operate, i read.

My pre-1994 year aging Jamestown seems almost bullet proof, and their customer support has been great. I would imagine their deal support would be stellar.

It would be an off-beat brand but at least you would not have to worry about other dealers too close by.

Don't know what kind of fuels are available in your area but you might want to consider some multi-fuel, corn and coal stoves.

On the phone now with Pacific Energy, I'm hearing great things about their new stove everyday and as of right now they do not have any dealers in the CT, MA or RI areas. I'll be contacting Dell Point Europa shortly but I have not heard much about them except for the added battery.

Really? I don't ever really hear much on corn or even coal stoves around here but maybe it could be a good investment...

I'll second that. My experiance with folks at St. Croix is all good. They dumped the dealer I purchased my stove from for good reason.

And they only market 1 pellet stove and its made by Sherwood Industries=Enviro. I would think Going with a broader line up Like Enviro or VistaFlame. Makes more sense. More options!

I would be careful with the Breckwells.

Hint!
I am in your area and love the Enviro's. I will pay you a visit when you get rolling.

Whomever you choose to represent PLEASE have you and your hired guns fully trained on parts and service...the #1 complaint from most any stove owner is poor customer service!

I agree....Breckwell would not be anywhere close to the top of my stove list. They have cheapened the stoves in the past few years to save $$, and the quality has suffered. I know one other stove shop owner on this forum who has confirmed this.

If it were my shop, I'd be getting Travis Ind. (Astoria/Lopi), Harman, + Enviro.

Don't know if Englander sells to stove shops, but I'd have them in there too.

"Dell-Point Europa Pellet Stove
Dell-Point has discontinued making pellet stoves.

The "greenfire" technology has been built into the Regency GF-55 Pellet Stove and GFI-55 Pellet Stove Insert.

The founders of Dell-Point, Mark Drisdelle and Claude Lapointe used to own a mill which made wood pellets from waste material. They were not satisfied with the reliability or efficiency of the appliances (traditional pellet stoves) which burned this fuel.

Eager to find a solution they spent eight years developing a technology called greenfire, which is much more efficient, virtually smoke free and much more reliable to use.

The Europa 75 is no longer being manufactured. Regency Fireplace Products produces replacement pellet stoves model GF-55 (a free standing pellet stove) and GFI-55 (a pellet stove insert)."

well, thats pretty much the number one complaint of ANY customer

I think if you stick with nothing but high end (high priced) stoves you are going to loose out on a large amount of customer interest. You may want to look into lower priced workhorses like Englander.

-not bashing your idea, just being honest.

Edit: I just noticed you are a distributor for Inferno, any complaints yet?

To be honest, I haven't heard back from any customers yet (it is 94 outside today though). But the guys at Inferno are really stressing that their pellet has gotten a new overhaul so will just have to wait and see.

This has been brought up before. That statement is false. The people who own the website know it is false. When I brought it to their attention, I was told to mind my own business. Greenfire is a stove made by Enviro for Regency. Regency sticks a Greenfire sticker on it and sells it to Regency dealers. The Europa is still currently being produced by Claude Lapoint, the original inventor. The retail price has been lowered to about $4,000. Please note, Claude never developed a tech called Greenfire. The owners of this website are using the technology invented by Claude to sell a very basic Enviro stove. The Enviro/Regency/Greenfire is just a typical "drop pellets in a tray with holes in it and blow air thru them" design.

And who the hell would want to get in the pellet stove business now? Start a natural gas fireplace insert business and market to nat gas areas if you want to make money.
