Hope everyone is having a good burning season! The latch on our Oslo's front door has recently started giving us some trouble, and I know the experts here will have the answer!!

Normally, when we shut and latch the front door, the tension of the spring on the front door latch holds the door tight and the handle doesn't move from the locked position. However lately, when we shut the door and latch it, the handle "creeps back up" from the fully locked position. Is the spring getting worn? It doesn't seem like the strike plate on the stove is a problem, it seems like the spring/tension on the handle itself is the problem. Is there an adjustment for this?

Thanks!

Normally it just means you need new gasket. How long have you had it? Outside of replacing the whole handle there isnt really an adjustment..

try new gasket 1st.. if that doesen't solve it, then the steelplate it hinges to may need to be bent back a bit, a couple short raps with a hammer will do.. DON'T get too aggressive, it is bolted into cast!
