The final Pennsylvania DEP outdoor wood-fired boiler (OWB) regulation was published in the PA Bulletin on October 2, 2010. The provisions of the regulation became effective on 10/2/2010. There is a sell-through provision for non-Phase 2 OWBs until May 31, 2011. However, any non-Phase 2 OWB sold between 10/2/2010 and 5/31/2011, must have a setback of 150 feet from the property line and have a permanently attached stack that is 10 feet above the ground and is installed according to manufacturer's specifications.

Here is the link to the PA DEP outdoor wood-fired boiler regulation as published on October 2, 2010, in the PA Bulletin publication. The actual regulation is toward the end of this document.

After you have read the regulation, please contact me if you have any questions. Please forward this email to your members and/or distributors.

If I understand the new requirements are:
-New Phase 2 OWB with White Tag
-50 feet set back from property line
-permanently attached stack minimum 10 feet above ground level

list of EPA Phase 2 Boilers:
http://www.epa.gov/burnwise/owhhlist.html

Is the above correct?

eta: Does this mean a non Phase 2 boiler may be installed INSIDE a building?
