I met with my local dealer who recommended a Pacific energy Super insert for my house. So I started doing research and found a lot of post from 2011 complaining about loud rattles in the baffle.

I was wondering if they fixed this issue since it doesn't seem to show up in later posts.

That's such an unlikely place for a rattle, but I vaguely remember someone that thought he heard it in the trivet when a lot of people were walking around the room. I could get a little rattle if I jumped on the floor next to the stove but I had to work at it. Have not thought about it since.

I can't imagine a rattle coming from the baffle. But if I heard one I'd probably figure the pin that holds it in back was the culprit. Maybe it was coming out? I don't remember it sitting in there tight though. but its the lightest weight thing in there. The baffle and their supports are fairly heavy and covered by an insulation blanket which would restrict movement and deaden sound.

Ok, somit sounds like excessive rattling during the burn isnt normal on these stoves. Thanks.

Should not rattle, even with the blower on.

Hi All,
First post for me. This is a timely thread as I am currently looking to buy a PE Super. Dealer here offered it to me for $3000 out the door with a 25' liner. I'm not sure if that is a good price or not. My only concern at this point is in the attached link posted below. Seems like there were several unhappy PE owners who purchased a PE Summit insert. There post are old so maybe the inserts have improved since then.
Kind Regards,
Sunnenman
