Pellet Bags

Just curious, but why are pellet bags porous? Are they packaged warm, and thus would sweat and become moisture spoiled as they cooled? If so, why couldn't they be packaged after they are cooled? Or is there a concern that they would sweat eventually under a shrink wrapped pallet during storage, especially in hot weather?

I think it is to let the air out of the bags so they don't burst open when they are being stacked and wrapped.

The bags are made porous to allow the air to escape from the bags so when they are stacked they will lay down flat. They also put holes in the bags to allow a little air to go through the bags when they are lifted off the machine. The machimne uses suction cups to lift them. If they did not allow a little air to pass through the bags would tear.
