I'm sorry about that.
Some fella built a tray/box out of expanded metal to fit inside his stove's firebox. It was nothing exact and there was an inch or better of clearance between the sides and top of the box, and the sides and top of the stove.
The sides extended down from the bottom a little to form legs and it sat over the ashes. The front wall was not as high as the back and sides to accomodate loading.
In this tray he burned pellets and chips to supplement his firewood.
It was a good picture but I hope you get the idea.

Variations on this idea have been available for a couple of years at least. They all seem to be expensive for what they do, plus, they are not efficient. You would get better use with a cord or two of good hardwood than tinker with these. It's a great idea, but not a practical idea.

Thanks but the point was, that it was easily made with some scrap metal and could help a body out if he was cold and had no firewood but access to chips.
The perfect world everyone knows is too slowly fading away.
