    BeGreen -

We make a cat litter that is definitely different than our heating pellet. It is 100% pine and is very aromatic and more absorbant than typical heating pellets, especially hardwood pellets. It's a high end cat litter that the breeders love. Clumping litters can kill cats. They grown themselves and the clumping dust gets in their intestines and cause blockages. The wood pellet litter is more expensive than clumping litters but much better for the cat.

You also should not use hardwood pellets with horses as some species of hardwood are poisonous to horses.

Thanks for the great info Jonas and Darryl. This topic was brought up the other day by a horse owner and it had me wondering ever since.
