    am installing new mt vernon ae straight through wall to an open air porch with roof over the porch and a wooden deck. is there any danger of sparks landing on the wood deck from the vent pipe?

    Hello,

    Quoting from your manual...

    This leads me to believe that the porch roof is a problem. A carport is not much different than a porch with a roof...

    Quoting from the CB1200 manual (mine on order)...

    I don't understand why this wouldn't be in your manual but I think the wood deck is a problem.

    You need to read you owners install manual, it has a section on clearances. Treat the piping like a normal wood stove, even though it burns cleaner than a wood stove it still can leave residue and produce smoke if a problem occurs with the pellet stove.
