Has anyone used the Simpson Dura Vent pellet vent kit to burn corn? There are stickers on each piece that say not to use with corn burning appliance, only pellet burning appliance. Correct me if I'm wrong, the new dura vent is multi fuel (including corn)capable. Whats the difference between what I ave and the the new pellet vent and pellet vent pro?

Dura Vent has the following pipe for pellet and corn.

Pellet Vent Pro, only available through "Authorized" dealers. Not big box stores. This is the best pipe with welded seams and "o" ring gaskets. There has been numerous improvements in the inner piping to use with bio fuels. 1" clearance to combustibles. http://www.duravent.com/?page=2c.php

Corn Vent made with crimped seams and available from big box stores. I am not sure if this is still being made since it is no longer on the website.

Pellet Vent made with crimped seams and available from big box stores. 3" clearance to combustibles and does not mix with Pellet Vent Pro. http://www.duravent.com/?page=2a.php

Can the pellet vent with crimped seams be used for corn?

Not likely, it depends upon what the inner pipe is made of. Corn produces a corrosive combustion byproduct that causes pin hole leaks and general disintegration of a lot of "normal" pellet pipe.

You need to use pipe rated for corn.
