I've been searching for one of these for about six months and I finally found one... SOLO 681

Just got her in last night and havn't had a chance to cut with her yet, hoping for this weekend. Makes my Dolmar 5105 seem like a toy saw.

Filled her up with VP94 and she started up on the second pull, sounds mean.

Just thought I'd share... nobody around me seems to appreciate a nice saw, figured I'd share with those who do.

    81cc'ish

German saw... Dolmar and SOLO collaberated on the new big saws from each of their lines. They had a falling out near the end and went their seperate ways. Dolmar came out with the 7900 (79cc) and SOLO with the 681 (81cc)... pretty much the same saw, just minor differences that I feel leans towards the 681.

Nice, especially since the EPA says no. I think you got lucky. Enjoy, I've heard that's a real screamer.

One of the driving reasons for my desire to get one. I don't like being told I can't have something... makes me want to aquire said item just to give them the finger. :)

That and if you can call a saw pretty, this would be the one.

For example (not my saw, but exact same model with different bar)... much better picture than what I provided with my cell phone.

Great looking saw. Very nice,I've heard they're quite the beast.A fellow member (cant remember who ATM) has 1 of those & a 694 also I'm thinking.A few months back in mid summer I seen some guy had a Solo 103cc saw on Ebay, pretty good chunk of change I imagine.

Nice saw. Good luck with it. I have the same dishwasher, but in stainless with black plastic and the same under cabinet lights too. I have never had a saw on the kitchen counter though.

    Nice looking "clean" saw.
Hang on, looks like it wants to eat at the big boy table .
Time to get some wood chips stuck to it & some paint wore off the bar ;)

We appreciate new saws ;) even more when they are in a pile of fresh cut rounds & wood chips :)
Looking forward to the new pics from this weekend ::P

What exactly made you want that saw? Great lines, nice shape, how does it cut? Is Solo supported by dolmar dealers?

My 460 just hid under my bench, clutch drum rattling a bit. Great, now I have to convince it it's ok to come out.

That thing looks like it means serious business.

Well, dropped a 20" pine today with the Solo 681. This tree just needed to come down as the trunk was hollowed out by squirrels and its location at the edge of my/neighbors property. Simple drop and buck.

The saw went through this pine like it wasn't even there, almost too fast (Oregon full-chisel chain). Can't wait to get this saw in some real wood, the thing just flat out rips!

Looks great, nice smooth cuts too. Looks like its been officially christened. Pour a Velvet Cream Porter over the bar for good luck and you're set to go!
