Well, at least there's one person in the house who has time to sit in front of the stove and read. Found my 2-year old here, this morning.



46F outside this AM, going up to 65F. This wing of the house was hanging at 71F without heat, which somehow feels cool, coming off a hot summer. Lit a small fire to bump the temperature up to 73F for the day.

Her grandkids will probably zap a box with a laser for a 24 hr light show and heat. No tablet, it will be bionics by then.

I wouldn't count on that, anymore than the predictions about the certain apocalypse we'd be facing today, thanks to the then-growing hole in the ozone. Science and engineering have a way of addressing problems, when and if they become real. We're going to hold off on exposing her to superstition and politics for now, and just enjoy this phase a while longer.
