probably just stove paint burning off....smoke coming from support box

    couple more pics after sweeping out the sawdust

    i triple checked while i was up there, in last pic its a knot thats making a shadow that appears like it charred some. its not char.

    Yes it is a bit sloppy. There should be no sawdust in there at all. I can see some right against the inner pipe insulation. Maybe that is the source of your smoke? Be sure to vacuum it all out.

    yes i believe it could have been the culprit. all vacuumed out now. thanks for your assistance.
