We have an evolution pellet stove that we have had for 4 years. We took it out and did a thorough cleaning of it this summer. Last year we had a problem with the auger hanging up and not dropping pellets. That seems to be fixed, but now the ash pot is filling up in about 6 hours and shutting the stove off. We have tried different brands of pellets. We also have adjusted the air flow. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Yes, make sure the entire air path starting at the air intake and ending outside at the vent cap is completely clean. This means all horizontal runs , tees, cap, vertical runs, the portion of the exhaust between the exhaust blower and the tee, the portion of the exhaust between the exhaust blower and the heat exchanger, the heat exchanger, that all baffles have been removed and the ash traps cleaned, that the air intake from the burn pot out through the the actual intake and your OAK if any, and its cap. Also your exhaust blower fan and motor needs to be removed and the surface of the fan and the fins completely de sooted, the exhaust fan cavity as well. Be absolutely certain you have a spare exhaust fan gasket as it is likely the current one will get destroyed removing the fan.

If the stove has a gasket on the burn pot make certain the burn pot is properly seated and the gasket is still good.

Make certain the door gasket is still good and that the door still has a tight seal along with the hopper if it also has a gasket.

What you describing is a problem caused by poor air flow usually associated with a dirty stove.
