This dog is fine as long as the stove is quiet. After a couple loud "woofs" from the stove, she is forever terrorized even with the gentle sound of flames.

Our mastiff mix is sensitive to sudden noises. He goes upstairs when we load the stove as he fears the creaking and every once in a while the sudden shifting of logs. After about a half hour as the stove settles in, he comes back down and sits in front of it comfortably.

Now that's a brave dog - at least he eventually settles down with the stove. I wish mine wasn't such a scary cat.
