I bought this boiler to put out in a shed behind the house. It uses 1 1/4" pipe for supply and return. I have found 1 1/4' pex but the fittings are hard to find and I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a crimp tool . I decided to use a plate HX between the gas boiler in the basement and the wood boiler. I am thinking of maybe using 1" Pex instead. I would have to get the circ pump speed dialed in to where it works satisfactory but I am wondering if I will lose about 50,000 BTU's by using the smaller tubing. Any ideas?
