My Quadrafire 7100FP is about to go into its second year of use. I removed the ceramic blanket and fiberboard baffle for inspection and to allow inspection of the chimney, before the heating season arrives. The tubes and ceramic blanket appear to be in great shape, but the baffle board is broken from front to rear, about center of the board. Can the existing baffle continue to be used if repaired with refactory cement, or should it be replaced in its entirety ? If replacement is required, can I purchase and cut to size a new piece of 1/2 board, or do I have to order from Quadra-Fire ? As a newcomer to the wood burning scene, I have garnered a wealth of information from this board in the past year, and any assistance and information that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
